ViewSonic Tablet PC V1250

Elegant, high quality Tablet PC notebook convertible
(by Conrad H. Blickenstorfer)

Now discontinued, the ViewSonic V1250 was a sleek, elegant, very high quality notebook that converts into a pen slate. The machine is smaller than it looks, and weighs just under four pounds. It's made of magnesium and ViewSonic offers numerous useful accessories for it. ViewSonic also includes a larger and more useful software bundle than most.

The integrated keyboard is full-scale and works well. Battery life is limited due to the small 28 Watt-Hour power pack. ViewSonic has been updating the V1250 with larger disks, more RAM, faster wireless, etc. The processor, however, remains unchanged, though the machine feels more than quick enough. The optional docking station is exceptionally well integrated and adds a lot of extra connectivity.

We immediately liked this elegant device and hoped ViewSonic would decide to stick with it.
