Toshiba Satellite R10/R15

Toshibaa's Satellite series gets a Tablet PC convertible
(by Conrad H. Blickenstorfer)

The R10/R15 adds a Tablet PC convertible to Toshiba's Satellite series of somewhat larger notebooks. Catering to those who prefer a large screen and plenty of features over small size and low weight, the R Series has a 14.1-inch display (only 1024x768, though), an optical drive, and all the connectivity one can wish for. A nicely equipped 1.3GHz Celeron model with a DVD/CDRW drive starts at just US$1,399. Additional models are available with more memory, bigger disks, DVD writers, and processors up to a 2GHz Pentium M 745. Weighing up to 6.5 pounds, the R Series is relatively large and heavy for a Tablet PC, but if you view it as a well equipped notebook with extra ink and pen slate functionality, its is a terrific bargain carrying one of the industry's most prestigious names.
