Fujitsu Lifebook T4000

Competent, full-function Tablet PC convertible
(by Conrad H. Blickenstorfer)

The handsomely designed Fujitsu LifeBook T4000 Series is a notebook convertible that replaces the short-lived T3500. It is a competent, full-function notebook with powerful Intel 1.6 or 1.8GHz processors, and an internal DVD, DVD/CDRW or DVD writer. There is excellent connectivity via either 802.11b/g or a special 802.11a Atheros version, PC Card, SD Card, SmartMedia reader, as well as FireWire and the usual USB/VGA/audio ports (as well as Gigabit LAN connectivity). The T4000 comes with the terrific 12.1-inch Hydis display, an outdoor-viewable option of that display, or the 1400x1050 pixel non-wideangle display seen on the Toshiba M200. All of this weighs just 4.3 pounds, making the Lifebook T4000 Series a supremely flexible and powerful notebook/tablet computer from the industry's most experienced tablet vendor.

The LifeBook T4000 Series was replaced in 2006 by the very similar but more powerful LifeBook T4210.
