Lightweight rugged handheld optimized for ticketing

Starting in 1988 with the very first handheld including an integrated printer Schweers, headquartered in Germany and part of the Dutch Waysis Group, has been developing and manufacturing mobile computers and market-specific software for parking enforcement solutions. At present, over 10,000 Schweers mobile computers are in use in more than 750 cities and police departments worldwide, supported by distribution in 15 countries, including the UK and US.

The company's Politess X600 handheld was specifically created for the collection and processing of data in an outdoor or rugged environment. Its ergonomic design reduces Repetitive Strain Injuries by placing the heaviest parts in the terminal into the palm of your hand. Weighing under 1.8 pounds, the XScale-powered X600 is one of the lightest products in its class, and its "perceived weight" is even less and ensures that the X600 isn't tiring to use. The X600 has a landscape-oriented 320x240 LCD and a large alphanumeric keypad coupled with an advanced text recognition system making data entry easy even when gloves are being worn. The device has a silent, speedy and fully integrated thermal printer that can generate graphics and barcodes. Options include a color touch screen, and internal camera with light, GPRS modem, GPS, IrDA, microphone, Bluetooth, barcode scanner and a smart card reader.

The X600 is is sealed to IP64 specifications and can survive 4-foot drops to concrete. Primarily designed for parking enforcement or something else, the X600 can be adapted to just about any outdoor data entry application.

The X600 is generally used with the company's Politess Office system that's easily configurable for wireless or batch installations for use by individual officers to large scale deployments, helping private operators, city authorities and police departments to enforce parking regulations efficiently and effectively.
